Research Focus And Objective:

The objective of this research is to develop an innovative framework, backed by theory and verified by software-hardware hybrid simulations, for the design of adaptive multimedia wireless networks. We focus our efforts on two critical areas that we believe hold the key to a new paradigm of network design:

(a) Theory and methodologies that facilitate cross-layer design of adaptive multimedia ad hoc networks;

(b) Software and hardware simulation platforms that verify design methodologies and predict, possibly in real-time, network behavior.

Medium Access Control and Data Link:

Our research focuses on interactions between the physical layer and MAC and Data Link layers. We are developing new protocols and architectures that exploit diversity transmissions and receptions. Specific topics include receiver aided MAC and collision resoultions, optimal procotols for multipacket reception, and adaptive QoS Turbo tranceivers.
